I hate pickin up the poo, all warm and moist.. bleh.... anyway, there were quite a few nudie guys on the trail... the most i've ever seen. i guess more motivation to run faster. Let's see, the only other exciting thing that happened recently is ... oh, I went to the DMC West coast dj competition.. I haven't been to one of those battles in a long time.. The kids have improved with their scratching and bboying skills, I must say.. most of the djs were hecka good.. scratching and beat juggling.. nothing too innovative, but all pretty smooth. I also liked watching the break dance battles they were having on the dance floor. those are always fun to watch. I don't think I'll ever be able to get down like that, but I'll keep trying. Then the group triple threat (vinroc, shortcut, and apollo) performed a pretty phat hip hop set. man, reminded me of my glory days when i used to spin.. sigh. Nobody got too mad at each other (the usual on family trips), so that was cool.. in a nutshell, Jen's graduation was really scorching hot.. I got a bit of sunburn sitting there in the field. Crashed at my other sister's house the whole time. Pretty nice place.. San Diego is such a great place.. I'd love to live there someday and just sit around on the beach. Went body boarding on a carlsbad beach...man, I wish I could swim in ocean beach.. two days ago, went to disneyland. I'm getting old, it doesn't really excite me that much anymore. just rode all the rides with my sisters and my cousins. They have this new system called fast pass, where you put in your ticket stub, and it tells you what time you can ride that ride, without having to wait in line
pretty nifty idea.. i didn't have to wait at all for any rides! that was the best part.. oh yeah, fantasmic was really cool too, as usual.
Today was alright, didn't do too much, just unpacked, cleaned up a bit, worked out, went to lumps... so many fobs at 24 hour bay street now. weird. it used to be such a yuppie place.

sorry about not posting for a while,
I was in san diego for the past week, for my sister's graduation from ucsd. Hung out with this group called Young Life, in the Tenderloin. They had their graduation party today, at some really rreally rich guy's place in palo alto.. mtv cribs style. volleyball, swimming pool, guest house, bball, really nice. man, the kids were pretty cool also. Some guys were teaching me how to break, and do capoierra, that brazillian dance/ fight thing. it was strange cuz I woke up in the morning and prayed a short prayer that I would be able to relate to the kids some how. It seemed to have worked, cuz i got to talk to some guys on the drive down. On the drive back, I got to talk to 3 guys, and ended up going out to dinner with them at king of thai. it was pretty cool, they all go to galileo for school. then i drove em home after that, and played some counterstrike. i knew counterstrike would come in handy one day. all hs guys play it. sheesh. but I'm not in hs anymore. ugh. My initial impressions of younglife, very different from the fellowship I work with, in that there is less structure, and less strict at yl. The counselors are pretty kicked back, but i wonder if there is much deep counseling going on. I haven't gone to many of the club meetings to see what a real meeting is like. this summer, they are full with lots of activities, but no friday meetings, which is kinda strange. anyway, that's it for now. i'm still sick. bleh

well, since I've been sick and pretty much at home for the past few days, I decided to start my the freestyle mix.. In fact, just
>5 days after it opened in 2000, health inspectors began slapping moonstar
>with violations. Violations they continued to find during 5 subsequent
>inspections. Mouse droppings, salmon at room temperature and the handsoap
>dispenser broken at the employee's sink. To name a few. All those
>violations. So many people getting sick-- and the health department has
>never shut the restaurant down.
>
>Moonstar isn't the only restaurant with a bad track record.
>
>
>
> Charles hanson and his wife ate at great india restaurant.
>
>
>
> Austin miles ate at china first.
>
>
>
>Both restaurants have histories of health violations, like dirty kitchen
>equipment and storing chemicals above food. Yet remained open.
>
>
>
>So what "is' the health department doing? Well, when restaurant owners don't
>fix the problems health inspectors turn up, they are ordered to attend an
>abatement hearing where. Once again they're ordered to fix the problems.
>Meanwhile, they're still open for business. Still serving food.
>
>
>
>And so the cycle continues. Fix the violations temporarily. Then next time
>you get caught, fix them again.
>
>
>
> like kan's restaurant, where health inspectors found a severe cockroach and
>rat infestation, including rat droppings on a cutting board. The employee
>sink had no soap or paper towels.
>Recently, we joined inspector lisa o'malley as she visited kan's again.
>The very same violations that had been found 9 times before.
> it was only after the health department learned of our investigation that
>it finally did something. Owners were ordered to another hearing. and the
>restaurant was shut down. Temporarily. Until the violations are fixed.
>
>
>
>7 other restaurant and markets were allowed to stay open.
>
>
>
> we wanted to see what impact the hearing had had on those food
>establishments so a few days later we visited them with our hidden cameras.
>
>
>
>At irving seafood market, there was still no sink in the employee bathroom.
>This raw meat was kept out at room temperature. And a cat perched just feet
>away from raw meat.
>
>
>
>At sweet delight bakery, meat was also left at room temperature.
>Markets in chinatown were still storing food out on the sidewalk, and
>seafood was still left out unrefrigerated.
>And remember moonstar? Once again, piles of raw meat were sitting out
>uncovered--at temperatures where bacteria thrives.
> we showed jack breslin our tape. He's in charge of health inspections.
>But for people who've gotten sick after eating in restaurants, it's too
>little, too late.

oh boy, I just saw the link to my highschool alumni webpage. They list all the lawyers, doctors, mbas, etc etc, from each class. Do they have a section for bums like me? Depressing. anyway, I'm still sick. I'm going to take a shower and go to bed. The highlight of today was that I finished reading Musashi's "A book of five rings." It's the classic japanese guide to strategy, written by the great samurai warrior Miyamoto Musashi. Supposedly he wrote this book in his dying days living in a cave. His writings are supposedly equally important to the businessman, philosopher, and martial artist. The book deals mostly strategy in fighting your opponent with a sword. I guess I am too sick to see the symbolism and importance of this book right now, tho my friend ken thinks this book is really great. Darn my intelligence of a horse fly. I couldn't sleep all night. i don't know what it was, tossing and turning. i think i slept like 2 minutes the whole night. i am upset. i hate being sick.
crap.

just came back from watching starwars episode 2 at amc 1000 with the lumps crew. pretty good special effects. not that's a movie i gladly paid 9 bucks for. So now I'm feeling rather ill. I hope I'm not coming down with anything.. bleh. Got up at 9 this morning to play golf with jas, tim, and pastor john. went to glen eagles. pretty fun morning, got really bad shots. afterwards we ate at some seedy mexican restaurant on mission street. me and jas then proceeded to costco, to pick up some proteinbars.. 30g per bar... woohoo, and then went to lowell to ride his mini motorcycle. so fun.. sheesh. think i almost sprained my ankle again playing ball. stepped on jas' foot. bleh. need to sleep before I get more sick.

Just take my word for it, Pedagogy of the Oppressed is worth reading... I don't really want to type in the highlights. bleh. Anyway, I spent the afternoon at the anza branch library. yipeee. I checked out a few books while i was there, supposedly reading my C++ book.. "A book of Five Rings" by Musashi (classic japanese guide to strategy), "China, an illustrated history" , Fellowship of the Rings by Tolkien, and The Art of Happiness, by the Dalai Lama. I'll have a lot to read in the next few days, but gosh, this is great! =)

So yeah, I'm still on the prowl... no, not for girls, for a job.. sheesh. I applied to another city job today, but I have my suspicions that my resumes go down some toilet somewhere. sigh. When is it my time? When will I get out of my rut? I know i should be content, because this is where God wants me at this time. I mean, it's cool that I get to read a lot, exercise 10 times a day, and hang out with highschoolers at church, but isn't there more to life than this? maybe I'm measuring my success on a worldly level. bleh. but it feels like i could be doing a whole lot more right now, especially at this time of my life.

Going to study now, at the sfsu library, then workout. at least those things are kinda consistent.

yesterday was another pretty forgetable day. woke up at 7am, to watch the bay to breakers, but it was pouring outside. So i turned off my alarm, and went back to bed. didn't get up until 12! yeesh. cleaned up my place a little bit, then at 530 went to late late service at sunset. I'm starting to appreciate pastor john more now, as well as the pastor at my church, pastor henry. Pretty good speakers. Before i would just automatically zone out for some reason. Service was pretty cool, kinda like another lumps. same people.

Took off to 24 hour on ocean right after that. Chest workout was pretty good, except that I got this sweaty dude at the gym to help spot me. His sweat friggin dripped on my face.. disgusting! urghhh.. bleh. note to self, do not ask sweaty guys named earl to spot you. He also left big sweat marks on the bench, so I had to sit on the sweat to wipe it off, cuz I didn't have a towel. friggin... i'm kinda getting up there now... did 45s, 45/25, 45/35, 45/10, 45, 45... lots of sets. tho, I don't really feel too sore today. I wonder what the problem is. frustrating.

After the workout, i went to the sfsu 24 hour study library. Man, it was really full, so I sat on the floor. Another thing that urked me was this really loud and obnoxious group that was doing a group study or something, talking at regular voice level the whole time. soooo annoying. I wanted to go over and tell them to shaddup, but of course, i wouldn't. anyway, after fantasizing in my head about how i would walk over to them and say, "shaddup!", I finished my book, pedagogy of the oppressed. A really good book! In my next blog entry, I'll type up some excerpts.

fyi turned off the jonho.com site cuz the fan on my computer is kinda annoying at night. with my fish tank filtering, and my computer fan buzzing, I can't sleep! Read a little c++, drums for dummies, and a book on acid pro 3. ate a burrito at the burrito place next to blockbuster on sloat. Got gas from it. I don't like their sour cream/ guacamole. nasty nasty stuff. led the weekly guitar thang before fellowship.. Went to starbucks at laurel village.. chilled there reading a c++ book. I wonder if i can actually learn it. after that went downtown and had lunch with my old friend tram. It was good catching up with her, since the last time we talked was like, 5 years ago.. funny how seasons change. One day i could be talking to you, and then a year later, i wouldn't even recognize you on the street. sigh. We tried to go to cheesecake factory, but there were an insane amount of people there, so we went downstairs to wolfgang puck's. it was so so... mamahoohoo (horse horse tiger tiger, as they say in china)

Anyway, after that met up with martin at bay street for a workout. Saw some guys break dancing, so i ask em how to do the windmill.. I think I know what I'm doing wrong now. I'll try it some other day, when I feel young. he showed me the russian kick also. came home, messed around on the computer, practiced a little guitar, and now here I am. blah

just came back from dinner in berkeley... some place called "soi four".. thai food. it was aiight... tho i think it's yvonne's favorite place or something. after that, we tried to go to fenton's in oakland, but gasp! it's still closed! and I think the owner sold it! I've been in the procrastination station studio working on the modern rock mix. It's not that great in quality in terms of the recording itself. sigh. I'm really mad at my lack of audio recording skills. oh well. It's finished. I am not working on the audio part anymore. now it's time to finish up the cd cover. Tonight was okay, went to lumps, got to play drums again, and then went out for food at s&e cafe on taravel. Just got home. I spent all day working on the mix again. I found out that I recorded the levels too low from the very beginning, so it has some annoying noise throughout the cd.. oh well. I'm mixing it down by throwing it into soundforge (normalization), then through t-rexx eq, compressor, and limiter. I have no idea what the heck I'm doing, but I'll experiment till I find an optimal sound. After that I'll throw it back into soundforge, cut up the tracks, and pump out the cd.. getting close. I kinda want to draw an album cover, but we;ll see if I have the patience for that.

Went to workout tonight, and before that, lumps worship practice. I get to play drums again. I'm not progressing on the drums cuz I don't get a chance to practice, but it's fun anyway.

Tomorrow, finish up the mix, read for most of the day, then workout. need to be productive.

listening to loud music makes you go deaf.

Well, thanks for downloading the modern rock mix. I shouldn't have even attempted to eat the raw fish. i probably will get a stomach ache later. Although it's a really nice day out, i'm going to read today. I need to kick start my brain. A lot of the big names of the bio field were there recruiting people with phds, masters, 20 years experience, etc. so i had no place being there, but oh well. Anyway, my theory is that these job fairs are full of crap. My friend v who recruits at these fairs say that there are two piles your resume can land in. the Cute girl pile, and the recycle pile. I'm sure he is just joking, but nah, he's not. So, since I am neither, fooey!

sheesh, after that me, thomas and his roommate went to eat at some dive in oakland chinatown. Again i am reminded why i do not like oakland chinatown. Mike would agree with me cuz he had a spoiled bubble drink from chinatown. yuck. So after that, i went home, ran a five mile loop near my house, and ate a dong/ zhong, or whatever you call it, for dinner.

Zoomed over to ocean beach for Drew's surprise party. It was friggin cold at the beach, and he didnt' even show up there! sheesh! He was waiting at some house, probably next to a fireplace or heater, while the rest of us were freezing. Anyway, i cut out after that, and headed over to the sfstate library which is 24 hours. i got a lot of reading done there.

I am starting to read Paolo Friere's Pedagogy of the Oppressed. finished chapter one, very interesting, will share with you later. Then I read a few chapters of a C++ book. Just got home, it's now 123am. I don't know why any sort of running makes me exhausted for the rest of the day. I think I only ran/walked 5 miles again today, and now I feel like bleh. maybe I'll go look in the fridge for a coke. Isn't running supposed to make you more energetic? ugh. This morning, i woke up early to take Thomas (highschooler) out for breakfast. We went to bashful bull's. i don't know why i always go there, i don't really like it that much. Then we headed over to Jackson uhh... anyway,
Tonight, we're going to head over to Mikey's place. It's his birfday and we're having a lumps potluck there. Should be fun.... Whoops, didn't get him a present. Just like every year. doh!

Oh yeah, the talk last night at fellowship went well. Praise God that He helped a bum like me speak okay. I'll post some unedited notes below, if you wanna read it. It's not rocket science, but it was okay i guess.

So I want to start off by asking this question. Who do you admire? Right off the top of your head. I know a lot of you guys admire pro ball players bonds, kobe. In my day it was larry bird, and Michael Jordan.. They had a commercial, “I wanna be like Mike”, Others of you will think of movie stars, and music stars. MTV Cribs, how to live like a rockstar. Who here can sing along with more than 10 songs? Who here can quote 10 bible verses? Tonight I want to try and convince you guys to reexamine your priorities and hopefully shift your focus, from worldy things back to things above, by making you realize the importance of spiritual maturity. This is something that God has put on my heart this past year, and I want to share with you what I have learned.

Insert prayer here.

So what is Spiritual Maturity? What comes to mind when you hear the two words together? [Ask for responses here]. To me, the first couple things that come up are, Stuffy, boring, Ned Flanders, and definitely not me, why would I want to be like that? I’ve come to the conclusion that it is our role once we become Christians. The definition of spiritual maturity to me, is Striving to be like Jesus Christ. What does that mean exactly? This opens up another can of worms, so I’ll just let you think about this during the week. How did He live? What were his convictions, etc.? Tonight, I want to focus more on why I think striving to be spiritually mature/ like Christ is a good thing for you, right now as high schoolers.

Do you have the desire to be Spiritually Mature?

Read Colossians 3:1-14

Why do I think striving to be Spiritually Mature/ or like Jesus Christ is Important?

1. Commandment
First, I believe it’s a commandment. In Col 3:1-3… Set your hearts on things above. Again it says, set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Are you constantly thinking about things that will further the kingdom of heaven? Or are you focusing your mind on things of the world, like movies, music, clothes, cars, relationships? These things aren’t necessarily bad, but is there a good balance in your life? What is the percentage? Are you ignoring the Spiritual Portion of your life?

2. Do it with all of your Heart
My favorite verse. Col 3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord and not for men.” I think that for the majority of my life, I’ve been really half into things, not putting my heart into one specific thing. Example would be back at college/ work, where I would goof off. I think this is a good reminder for me to work hard for God’s glory. It’s going to be difficult to be like Christ. He is God, and He is perfect! But I think we need to try our best. And work it at with all of your heart.

3. Lukewarm
Some of you may say, well, I can just live my Christian life on the downlow, and not really do anything or have the desire to grow. To be lukewarm in your faith, is not good either. It ain’t good to be lukewarm. Do you like to eat lukewarm food? No! it’s always better to eat food that’s either hot or cold. I’m the microwave master, and I usually underestimate the time that I cook food and I eat it lukewarm. Yech. God has a message for people who are lukewarm. Revelations 3:15-16, “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I am about to spit you out of my mouth.”

4. Christ is your LIFE
Col 3:4 “Christ, who is your life.” This reminds me of a tshirt I’ve seen. Mike N. probably has it. It says, “Baseball is life, the rest is just details.” Have you seen that shirt? Anyways, when something is your life, you live it, you breathe it, you smell it, you dream it, you eat it, you fart it. Everything about u is about that one thing. The tennis player Billy Jean King used to hang a tennis ball over her bed so before she would go to sleep, she would focus on the ball. Psychotic, I know, but hey, it got her to where she wanted to be. Maybe we should hang a bible over our heads at night? Maybe we can read the bible at night, and constantly pray/ think about spiritual things through the day as time allows.

5. Assurance of Salvation (when we strive for SM, we have…)
James 2:14-17 “What good is it, my brothas, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brotha or sista is without clothes and daily food, if one of you says to him, “Go I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” Do you ever wonder if you are saved or not? I sometimes have that feeling, and it’s not a good feeling. Yeesh, it makes me feel weird. However, as humans who doubt, I think this is a normal feeling. This verse motivates and reassures me that if I am striving for spiritual maturity, doing something, my faith is real.

Even if I am trying to be spiritually mature mentally, does it mean anything if just have head knowledge? No, we need to put it into practice. I think an important component of Spiritual maturity is doing… And this is what I’m going to talk about now:

Some ways to head towards Spiritual Maturity:
You need to start now. Even though doing stuff doesn’t make you spiritually mature, it leads u in the right direction.

What can I do to start? Start NOW.
Quiet times/ Praying/ Reading/studying the bible
How are you outwardly showing that Christ is in you?
Are you Serving?

Serve at Church: Weyman gave us a list of available ministries you can serve in. Have you even looked at this list? Every kind of person is needed.
Little things. Ask here.
Pay it Forward That kid made something happen. While the other kids just put it in their heads, he put it into action. He did the deeds.
Not telling you to drop out of school, but do something, make something happen.

Use every opportunity. Make it a point to serve your bros/ sis when you gather together, and outside of church. It’s like language. You can’t learn it unless you practice everyday.

How are we to strive for SM if it’s so hard???
Motivation from peers/ mentors to strive for Spiritual Maturity
Puzzle Analogy: Who likes to do jigsaw puzzles? You know how each piece has indentations and protrusions? That’s how we are as Christians, we have strengths and weaknesses. Separate we are a big chaotic mess, but together, we form a bigger picture. Do you know what that picture is? It’s the picture of Christ. You need help from your brothers and sisters. You need to encourage others. If you know someone is not doing their quiet times, call them up!

What’s stopping you?
1. Sin Cycle. I do the same sin over and over again and I can’t stop! It’s really affecting my walk with God. I feel ashamed that I’m doing this thing, so I avoid prayer, quiet times, etc. The guilt is really killing me! What do I do? This scenario is what we face very often. How do we get over this?

2. Why aren’t you starting now? You are not ready? That would be the most common answer. You picture hardcore missionaries, Pastors, church elders, everyone but yourself doing the work.

Conclusion:
No one said it was going to be easy. Jesus continually warns us of the difficulties we WILL face as Christians. It will be hard to strive to be spiritually mature.

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it” Matt 7:14

But once you do start walking with Him, you will have a much more fulfilling relationship.

This relationship is not a bf/ gf. What if God treated you like his bf/ gf? It is a marriage and is forever. We, the church, are the brides of Christ and we need to strive to be like like Christ everyday.

Check out my friend's website. My dentist called me this week and said I had a cavity or two. argh. I haven't called him back, for obvious reasons.

I just got my shoes in the mail today. I ordered some Asics Kayanos... They are supposedly good for running. Went running with Jason yesterday, probably a 5 mile loop around Lincoln Park, and then down to Ocean Beach. It was a really nice day for a run. Maybe that's why I'm feeling bleh today. I always get sick after running. I dunno why.

Came back from small group pizza night at Daves' house. I came home early cuz my face hurt and also because I have to work on my speech for tomorrow. I'm supposed to speak at my highschool fellowship. I have the main points down, but I'm questioning my approach. I think i need to sit down and write it all out. i'll do that right now after i finish blogging. Not too nervous about it, but maybe I should be. I cut out around 10 and went to this thing called the "koi" party. it was aiight, I saw a lot of my friends from lowell there, cuz they were throwing the party. I'm kinda tempted to hook up with em and dj once in a while. I dunno tho, I'm kinda out of that mode nowadays. Yeah, i stink at the drums, but hey, what do you expect from only having 3 hours of total practice time, ever? Praise God that I didn't fumble up that bad. Drums are cool, but I guess it's something I'll have to wait for. can't purchase it now, cuz the neighbors would have a cow. So today was semi productive, read a lot at borders. Johnny came by and we studied for a while. That's about all my day was. yeesh. The day before was the same. Tomorrow should have some promise. I'm going to work on some stuff at home in the morning, after a early morning run (I doubt it). I'm going to die! That's why i have decided to scrape off the tartar sauce if I get one. So today, I went to borders to read, then to 24 hour on ocean, as usual. after my cruddy 30 minute workout, headed over to ken's house. he has some pretty nice audio equipment. that guy is a friggin musical genius. Played bass for a while, then went to sunset to bang on the drums for an hour. I sent in my taxes. I owed like, a lot for someone who doesn't make any money! shoots. anyway, woke up, picked up j from the airport, dropped him off, then went to workout. man, I can't stand ocean 24 hour sometimes. There are these two typical hulking gangsta looking homeboys hogging up all the free weights.. the 25, 30, 35, 40, 45s.. sheesh, It's obvious that there are a lot of people waiting for the weights, but they are doing their super workout and can't be bothered. Sometimes I wish I had a gym in my house.. arghh, but hey, I only pay like 9 bucks a month.

After the shoddy back and bicep workout, I went to borders to read some more, ate a fish-filet at McDonald's (99cents), then went home to do some errands. We had praise worship for lumps tonight. I actually got to hop on the drums, cuz there were too many guitar people there. I showed up an hour early to start learning the drums... pretty fun.. I dunno if I wanna play on thursday. a bad drummer (that's me) is a big distraction while worshipping. Well, I'll see how our second practice goes this thursday.

I'm feeling kinda dumpy right now. I'm not sure if it's because I spent the last hour and a half watching young guns 2 on tnt, or if it was the big kimchee fried rice I just ate. I shouldn't eat so late. it's like 1am, and my stomach is full. bleh. I might as well read for a while. oh yeah, i need to do my daily "quiet time." I haven't done that in a while. There's so much to catch up on. Why are quiet times so hard to do anyways? I do want to learn more about God and what His plans are for me, but I have little motivation to read the Bible. I mean, it's really interesting, and has lots of great things on how I should live my life... Maybe they need to put it in magazine form. I enjoy magazines. I read them everyday. Today's magazine list: Bike (sportbikes), and Drummer... sheesh.

I didn't blog yesterday cuz I got home kinda late. My friend did a dj gig at stanford so I took one of the highschoolers there cuz he wanted to check how we set up and djed. It was a small party, but tom had a lot of equipment and music to keep the party going the whole time. He's getting better than me now! sigh. oh well, seasons change i guess. Didn't meet too many people cuz there were mostly couples there, ranging in age from 21-50something. bleh.

The highlight of the night was eating a LaBamba burrito beforehand, on old middlefield road, near stanford. Vic says it's the best burrito he's ever eatin, but I don't see what the big deal is. The carnitas is crispy, true, but is it that much better than good ol' Gordos? As a burrito afficianado, I have impeccable burrito tasting skills, but I couldn't justify giving this place a 10. a 9 maybe.

So Sunday was alright. Couldn't pay attention the whole time at church. Is it just me or does everyone drift off into outerspace during a sermon? I try really really hard to pay attention, but it doesn't work. I take notes, sit up straight in my chair, but I still end up thinking about what I'm going to eat after church, what kind of motorcycle I wanna get, or about that hot girl in the row ahead of me. =O Yeah, bad, i know... sigh. Worked out a little in the afternoon. I tried to lift two plates today on the bench.. let's see, that's 225lbs i think, but I failed miserably. fooey. I thought today was going to be the day too. shucks. i guess I'm just going to have to work some more. that's my goal. I wanna rep 2 plates on each side, then I'll be satisified. Why is it so hard? Why can vic and mart lift so friggin much??? Vic went for 3 plates today, but couldn't lift it off the rack. doh.

Showered after the workout, then went to dinner at Brother's Korean bbq on geary. Why did I even bother to shower? I smell like a big bbq pit right now. Had Kal bi (short ribs) and dak gui (Chicken) and all those little side dishes they give you. i love those side dishes.. yum yum... Decided to name my second kid "Kal Bi Jim" . First kid's name is going to be Durian. For real !!!! Serious!!!

Went to The Rock tonight. Usually a pretty good time of worship. It's a worship thing where they try to get all the christian churches around the city to come together and worship. I really like it, tho tonight was a little too rockin for me. The electric guitarist was too dominant. I can't stand it when the sound engineers really suck. but you can't complain cuz it's at church, but man, it gave me a headache. Well, that's all the whining I'm going to do for now, I'm really tired and must go to bed. gotta wake up early to pick up Jas from the airport.

Today, I went to workout. hit the Shoulders and Tris pretty hard. then i went to the good guys to help my uncle install a cd changer in his car. they didnt' have time. sheesh. went home, came back to stonestown (my hangout for this whole week) and read some more of the database books and music magazines.

Ate a sad dinner sandwich at albertson's by myself before going to LIFE, the highschool fellowship group I help out at. The meeting was pretty good, learned alot about grey areas and how to determine if something is good for you to do. I think I will post that message up here. Off the hook for driving highschoolers to the prom. woohoo! lowell's junior prom is tomorrow, on treasure island. weird eh?

Anyway, after the meeting, dropped off some people. He's one of the main guys from the 18 Mighty Mountain Warriors. I knew him from a long time ago. You should check out their stuff. Talk about boring, yawn. I think the guide I picked up wasn't that great. So cryptic and hard to read. They're probably trying to keep aspiring database admins from figuring the stuff out. sheesh.

But I digress, man, I love that bookstore. I got a hot tea, and sat at the cafe reading the book for a while. Maybe I should feel bad about sitting there for like, 4 hours, reading a 40 dollar book for free. Nah, i don't feel bad. Saw two of my friends while i was at the bookstore who do the same thing! But I won't make it a habit. My problem is that I buy too many books. I end up not reading any of them because the pile is too high! Right now, I'm working on reading the Qur'an, the Bible, Guns, Germs, and Steel, and some book on C++.

So I ended up at Barnes and Noble in Daly City after driving J to the airport. I read a pretty good article in Wired magazine about electronic music. Electronic music has been something that has fascinated me for a long long time. I've spent the past few months researching a bunch of software music production stuff. Pretty interesting. I just need motivation to learn how to use these tools. Side note: Next week, I'll be working in Sonar, making old school "latin/ fierce" freestyle mixes. I'm kinda peeved cuz the mixtress already took my song ideas and made a few cds. shoot. I have all the records she has. Upsetting, but I give her props on doing it right. I love her cds.

I'll make something good tho. If only I can figure out how to use the software, Sonar, Acid Pro, and SoundForge to make the mix, then I'll be all set. I probably will make an old school "modern" cd... Like the bootleg RMX modern cd Tani (my ex dj buddy from "Another Dimension" who, by the way, jacked me) put out a few years back. If you wanna copy, just let me know. Shoot, I'm missing out...

My problem is that I think too much, but I don't do. I once heard someone say that the smallest deed is greater than the biggest intention. I have a lot of intentions. bad ones, good ones, smelly ones, etc.. but I just need to get the ball rolling. easy to say, hard to do.

Got home from Tahoe last night at like 1230am.. Woke up today around 12pm. Man, this is the life. =) Tahoe was pretty.... Uhmm, bonkers. Me and the crew put away 2 bottles of the cabernet savi-something and 1 bottle of patron's. I've concluded that patron's is a waste of money. After pounding like 6 shots, nothing happened! sheesh. what a ripoff. My friend v probably would beg to differ. He was as giddy as a little school girl and passed out on the couch. muhahaha... permanent ink rubs off after a while and his eyebrows will grow back, i hope.. j/k.

So yeah, the snowboarding conditions were crappy, but enjoyable, since it is snowboarding. We went pretty fast on the slushy runs at Sierra. No hot chicks on the slopes, but we did get to do some jumps and stuff. Man, I should be really good at boarding by now, but I'm still too chicken to hit the big jumps with enough speed. Next season, I swear! I'd show you a pic that j took of me doing a cheesy railslide, but I am too lazy to post pix on this blog thing.

The rest of the weekend went... really well We cooked dinner at my friend's suite in south tahoe, and then hit the casinos.. I won a measly 60 bucks. Chump change I know, but hey, I left a winner, instead of leaving as my usual weiner. Man, gambling sucks as me, v, and m have concluded, no more gambling, ever....okay fine, i'm lying to myself. What really peeves me is that reading all those blackjack strategy books doesn't help when you hit while holding an Ace and a 9... Note to self, do not do that again. sheesh. **kicking self in butt now**

So after the casino, we came back and chilled. didn't get to sleep until about 6am! man, I am still tired right now, just thinking about it. ;) Anyway, Sunday's escapades were a bit more mellow. We woke up at like 1pm, ate breakfast and drove to Tahoe's Emerald bay for a short hike. Chilled at the beach with the geese for a while. We ate dinner at this place called Hoss Hoggs BBQ Ribs in Tahoe.. crappy ribs. bleh! even crappier decor... never go there when you're in tahoe. I wish we just went to eat at the buffets. It was probably my little gw inside my head telling me to try something new. sheesh. you know how those gw expeditions usually turn out.. hahaha.. sheesh, okay no more inside Lumps jokes.

So all in all, a good weekend. So now, after this hard weekend, I must get to work. I want to get started on learning database systems and stuff like that. There's so much to learn and read. I guess I just have to nut it up and get working on it. Well, that's it for now, talk to you soon.

Comments? Too bad! I don't have a comment thing because all the good comment software thingees have shut their doors to new subscribers. fooey!

I just finished packing up the truck. Going to tahoe today baby! woohoo! I don't think there's much snow left, but I'll make do with what's up there. I'm prepared tho, I bought a bottle of patron's today. Oh my gosh, 50 bucks a pop. Worth it I guess. No, I'm no alkie, but I do enjoy a sip here and there. I wanted to splurge even more and get the Cristal, but man, i ain't payin 100 bucks just to be like p. diddy.. We're going to crash at my friend's place this weekend. Should be fun.

The rest of my day was okay. I worked out at the gym in the morning, did some random grocery shopping, ate some pho, and then came home. I'm actually kinda feeling antsy right now, cuz I'm letting my friend borrow a crate of my most valuable records... Man, there's stuff in there, like, new order, erasure - a little respect, cynthia, lil suzy, dino - summer girls, information societ "pure energy" , nocera- sumertime summertime. i think we're going to leave it in his trunk for the weekend cuz we're taking my truck up to tahoe.

What if it gets jacked? what if there's a freak heat wave and my records warp? These are 90 of my babies that took me years to collect. oh well, I guess if they are still meant to be mine, I will get them back. Well, time to go fight traffic.

The time is now 1230am. I woke up this morning, at like 10am. Mornings are always hard for me. I try to wake up at like 8am by setting 2 alarms, but do i ever get up? nope. I wonder why I bother setting alarm in the first place. might as well get some good sleep in. I recently got a queen size mattress to replace my tattered twin size that I had been sleeping on for like, 25 years. oh man, what a difference. pillowtop, Simmons beautyrest.. drool.. no wonder i never want to get out of bed. The only thing that wakes me up early in the morning is snowboarding.

Speaking of which, I am going snowboarding tomorrow.. I hear the snow is all gone, but I guess i can just kick it with some of the guys in some suite up there.Yeah, another lop cherng festival, pickle party, sausage factory.. sigh. The well is dry. =(. Anyway, did a few things today. I went over to Jackson Arms. haha, Like i said in my previous blog, I am thinking about getting a glock 22... still not sure yet, cuz of safety reasons, etc, etc. Holding such potential power in your hand is a pretty interesting feeling. The glock 22 takes .40 S&W rounds.I think that's what law enforcement uses nowadays. . It's a nice piece, half metal, and half plastic on the bottom. It feels pretty good, though, it costs $599.. I talked to the guy there, and he said that in order to purchase a piece, you first have to take a written test ($25) or watch a video for $50. Then you gotta fill out paperwork and pay them like, around 100 bucks for fees and stuff like that, and then you wait 10 days for the government to check your azz out for warrants, felonies, etc.. Once/ if you clear, then you get to pick it up. I dunno why I want one. I guess it's just one of them "guy" things. I used to take riflery in highschool. They actually had a shooting range at my high school! We shot .22 handguns (lugers) and rifles. man, that was fun. I think they turned the range into a classroom now. sheesh.

See what years of playing with GI Joes did to me?

So afterwards I headed over to Stanford to visit an old friend. I was early so I chilled on the campus. Pretty nice place, tho i couldn't go into the cecil green library where I assume that most of the kids hang out. I went to the bookstore and perused the required readings, and then went over to my friend's place. We drove over to mountain view to castro street. They had a bunch of asian restaurants there, including a bubble drink store. We ate at this small joint, I forget the name, and we had ramen noodles, their specialty and fried chicken. that was pretty good.. then we went to get gelato. Is this detail starting to bore you?

Anyway, we ended up in Sunnyvale, at some small little center with Borders and Starbucks. We studied at Starbucks and then went to Borders.. Man, I love Borders and Barnes.. I can just sit in there for hours reading all the magazines... They have magazines about everything!! Nowadays I usually read the ones on rock climbing, motorcycles, & music production. anyway, after reading all the magazines for free, I took my friend back to home, and then came back to the city and now here I am. Hope you enjoyed another episode of my psychotic adventures. Stay tuned for more ramblings.

Well, another day has gone by. I woke up at 11am and that made me feel pretty jacked up. I didn't even leave the house! I just sat at home and did some work. T came by to putz around with the turnz, and then I ate a late dinner, tried to do my taxes, failed miserably, and here I am. It's 10 something pm. I think i will go work out now so I can at least go outside for a little while. i guess it's like one of them days in which nobody could give a crap whether you were alive or not. man, I sound depressed, not that I am or anything. I love living my life a lot. i guess it's just that I know that I'm not living up to my fullest potential. i'm not living each day as if I thought life was precious. yeah, i'm a whiner, I don't care, so leave me alone.

man the highlight of my day was 2 minutes ago, when i cleaned the crap off the lint catcher in the dryer. SometimesI think my life's purpose is slowly turning into a quest to aquire gear. The next gear item on the list is a glock 22... Think i will go buy that sometime this week or next. Not that I'm a psycho nut or anything, but it's just something that I always wanted, something that will complete me, just for a little while. It's kinda like movies in which the bad guy has to get certain artifacts/ things in order to unleash some evil thing onto humanity. ha, muhahhaa....

yeah, on my list right now is now some iron-clad pots and pans, henkel kitchen knives, glock 22, bass guitar, doefer midi controller, new camelbak, climbing gear, & sportbike. oh and some art supplies. I guess I should be focusing on getting a friggin job right now, but whatever. =P This is my blog, so shaddup.

FOOOOOEEEYYYYY!!!!! I just spent a half an hour writing a blog and I accidentally erased it!!!!! arghhhh!!!!! Stupid blog!!!!! shoot, here i go again, with a lot less feeling, and more anger.. Today was a good day, until I just deleted my story! I guess I'll start with the semi-exciting part.

I just came back from a Warriors game at the Oakland Coliseum. They beat the pants off the Portland Trailblazers, which was pretty cool, but the even cooler part of the evening was when I got to talk to the group, Nobody's Angel !!! Well, you probably haven't heard of them, unless you're a big music fiend like myself, but they sang a song called, "I can't help myself from falling in love with you" about a year ago, and they sang some cheezy song on the princess diaries soundtrack. They didnt' receive a very good welcome from the audience in Oakland. Too Short and his dirty nursery rhymes would probably have been a better choice..

Well, after they were booed and stuff, I "happened" to walk by them. They were going down the stairs, and I was going up the stairs on the other side of the railing. With a lame high pitched going through puberty kinda voice, I manage to say to Jenny, the asian looking girl, " uhhh, hey, I wish you guys played your other song, I can't help myself... That song is, like awesome..." Then some of the other girls in the group turn around, and go "awww, you like that song? That's cool!" and i was like, "uhhh, yeah" and then I turn around and walk away..

sheesh, It kinda reminds me of the time I met another semi-celebrity, Jocelyn Enriquez while I was djing an absolut party a few years back. I was standing in the dj booth, and she comes up and leans against me (really, i swear!) ... I turn my head and look at her, and then turn my head back into the crowd, and stand there like a chump. Then, I say, with mouth open, drool forming, "uhhh, It was sooo hard to find your record "Do you miss me?"(This is the time when that song was like, being played over and over and over and over again on the radio)" and she was like, "yeah, sorry, we had problems with the production of the record" and I was like, "uhhh, cool" and then I head over the restroom, and I didnt' even have to go! sheesh, what a chump I am. anyways, That was that. Meeting Nobody's angel was pretty cool, I guess... More exciting than staying home.. Much appreciation to jc for hookin me up with tix to my first NBA game.

So what else did I do today? I think I'll be like gw and tell you what I ate! Man, it was like a fatty food day.. ugh. I feel so gross...
1 Gordo's burrito (Super Chicken, Rice, Black beans, Cheese, Guacamole, Salsa) My mucho favorite ever!
1 Filet o Fish, 1 McChicken, 1 Diet Coke, Small fries
Cookie dough Ice Cream sandwich at the game
Man, a billion calories ingested today.

No wonder when I went to go workout tonight, I felt so sluggish and gross! Yeesh. Anyway, That's about it for tonight, It's now 1:50am, and I am cranky from having to type this whole adventure out again, since I was so dumb and deleted the previous one. Is anyone reading this?

This is my first blog. I have been assimilated into the Blogspot culture. Sheesh, I really should have better things to do than blog all day, and read other people's blogs, but oh well. Today was a good day. I went indoor rock climbing at Mission Cliffs (19th & Harrison) with my buddy V. I am now tired. will finish this tomorrow. zzzzz.
